Like most bands, Planet D has evolved over the years. It started with husband and wife, Duane and Debbie Cogar sharing a love of Classic Rock and Roll. In 2006, they remodeled their basement into a place where they could party and play music. Duane had been playing guitar and keyboards since he was a kid, and had many musician friends. He set up a drum kit for convenience, and his buddies would come by for impromptu jam sessions. It was so much fun they started talking about playing on a more regular basis.

In 2010, Duane met co-worker Dee Baxter when their company held a “jam session” party for employees. Duane was impressed with Dee’s skill on bass guitar and asked if he’d be interested in starting a band. Dee is the band's most accomplished musician, providing a solid foundation on bass. He plays bass and keyboards in a Rush tribute band called “Gold Rush” as well. He's a busy guy.

Duane wanted to concentrate more on his keyboards, so the search began for a guitarist. Don Wood answered an ad on Craigslist and was a great match. Don played with Planet D for three years before deciding in February of 2014 to concentrate on an acoustic project. He was instrumental in launching Planet D.

Planet D’s original drummer was Dave McConchie, the fifth “D” on the Planet. Dave left the band after a couple of years, and Don suggested his co-worker, Brad, who turned out to be a talented, high-energy drummer. Brad picked up like he’d been there all along, and was invited to join. He’s the hardest working guy in the band.

Debbie and Dee were doing all the vocals, but the band’s musical talent was outpacing the vocal capabilities. With more harmony and range, the music could only get better, so an ad was placed. Carrie Ferrario responded. Carrie is considerably younger than the rest of the band, but there was no doubt as to her talent and experience. She has a beautiful voice and an upbeat demeanor. Carrie also sings lead in a band called “North Congress” with her husband playing keyboards.

The departure of Don was hard on the band, but after numerous interviews and a couple of false starts, John Bugajski has joined the band on guitar. John is a very good guitar player and a down-to-earth type of guy. He brings not only skill, but a great sense of humor and a good work ethic to the band.

The goal of Planet D is to play a wide range of classic rock that captures the essence and feel of the originals, with the band's own unique twist. Getting the audience into the music experience with the band is the reward. For those of you still reading this, we've included individual bios on each member.
